Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect your email address so we can send you the newsletter. We do not sell your information, we do not run targeted advertising, and our website analytics do not use cookies or build profiles of you.
This policy explains what information American Health Intel ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use our newsletters, our websites (americanhealthintel.com and members.americanhealthintel.com), and related services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Your email address, and your name if you choose to provide it, when you subscribe.
- Anything you send us, such as replies to our emails, tips, or questions.
- If we offer a paid subscription in the future: billing details, which are collected and processed by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically.
- Email engagement. Our email platform may record whether an email was delivered, opened, or a link was clicked. We use this in aggregate to understand what readers find useful.
- Website analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless, does not track you across sites, and does not build a personal profile. It gives us aggregate counts such as page views.
- Technical logs. Our hosting and security providers automatically process technical data such as IP addresses and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Information we do not want. Please do not send us protected health information, patient information, or other sensitive personal data. We do not need it, and if we receive it we will delete it.
How we use information
- To send the newsletters you subscribed to and run the website.
- To respond to your messages.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site and newsletters are used so we can improve them.
- To process payments if you buy a paid subscription in the future.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers on our website.
Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the service, and only for that purpose:
- Ghost: subscriber management and newsletter email delivery.
- Netlify: website hosting.
- Cloudflare: DNS, security, cookieless analytics, and email routing.
- Stripe (only if paid subscriptions are offered): payment processing.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case the new owner would be bound by this policy.
Cookies and Do Not Track
Our website analytics do not use cookies. If you sign in to a members account, our email platform sets essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. Because we do not track you across sites, we do not change how we collect information in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
How long we keep information
We keep your subscriber information while you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. We keep messages you send us only as long as needed to respond and maintain records.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
- Access, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@americanhealthintel.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
- State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what we collect and to request deletion. We honor these requests for everyone, regardless of state.
We will not charge you or treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
Children's privacy
American Health Intel is intended for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to subscribe. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, or from anyone under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at hello@americanhealthintel.com.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards for the information we hold and rely on established providers with strong security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Users outside the United States
We operate in the United States, and your information is processed there. If you use our service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify subscribers by email or by a notice on the website before the changes take effect, and we will update the effective date above.
